Below are the most recent photos of Lou (Lou-Lou) and Lee (Lee-Lee) after I figured out their true gender. I can now see their male characteristics and I can still feel funny about it. It is so cute to see them still sweet and wanting to cuddle each other. Even there are two mats, they still want to sleep so close in one mat. Hope they will not outgrow such sweetness.

Realization of the Real Gender of Our Kittens

I have been posting photos of our cats especially the kitten photos. All this time we thought that our kittens were both females and I just recently discovered that it was a mistake!

They adopted us with the initiative of their mama cat when they were more or less a month old. Since then, I declared them both females and, named them Lulu and Lily respectively. I have no doubt then since I am not aware that it is difficult to tell the gender of the cat on its very young age.

That is why even I can see something is strange about their sensitive part, I just thought it was still female and jut looks a bit different cause there were still small kittens. But now, I can clearly see their developments and yes I am wrong, they are both males. I am still in a bit of a surprised state as I really did not see it will turned out to be like that. They already know their names and I think they would not mind being called with a girly name. Funny for me that now I know they are males, I could see the "male" characteristics or features on them now when I look at them which I cannot seem to see on them before.

Their names will be spelled differently now since they are really male cats. Lulu should be Lou-Lou and Lily should be Lee-Lee. Or simply just Lou and Lee. 😊

Oh my goodness, still can scratch my head realizing that I was wrong all this time. So because of this, I did a research online on how the gender of the cats can be determined even on their young age. It is too late for me to do this research but it will still be a knowledge which can be of good use someday. While researching, I found out that it is really not easy to determine the gender of a cat on its early age.

I found this video below that gives hints or tips on how to determine the gender of the kittens. I think that this is really helpful and give me the thought that better not to name the cat so early without being sure yet of the gender. It is because as it was said there, it is embarrassing to name the cat Samantha when it should really be Sam. 😊😊😊

Why Cats Sleep A Lot 😊

If you are a cat parent or owned a cat, you probably know their favorite hobby, which is sleeping. 😊

We can observed that cat sleeps a lot, so much that most of the day the cat was just sleeping. Ever wonder why?

Based on various articles online, cats usually sleep more than 12 hours a day and with an average of 15 hours daily. Most of the cats if not all, are more active at night time. It is because cats are considered as crepuscularthat means being active during wee hours (very late night and very early in the morning). So most of the day hours, they are sleeping to recover their energy. Also to store more energy for their activities such as running, jumping, playing and climbing.

There is a term Catnap as cats love to have naps in different times of the day. Older cats and kittens tend to sleep more which I think is the same with the case of humans. It is because on those age stages, the body needs more rest. Cats also tend to sleep more during colder season/weather since it is considered as bed weather, same to humans behavior.

They do dream too. I sometimes observe our cats while sleeping and can see them having body movements or whiskers twitching. Researching about it online, it was described as signs that the cat was dreaming in that moment. Cats can also adjust their sleeping patterns which is especially true for domesticated indoor cats. I personally observed this as our cats almost sleep on times when I am sleeping at night. They will wake up or become alerted when I wake up as they will be waiting for their foods. 😊

Earlier I am trying to clean some spaces and stuffs, and placed some pillows on the bench. When I checked it later, I found Lulu taking her afternoon nap. The scenario was too cute for me so I took some shots of her. Below are her yawning photo and sleeping photos. 😊
